The Percona Database Performance Blog is Percona's long-running technical blog, publishing how-tos, benchmarks, troubleshooting write-ups, and release coverage across MySQL, MariaDB, and Percona Server, its own tools (Percona Toolkit, XtraBackup, PMM), plus PostgreSQL and MongoDB. Posts are written mainly by Percona's support and consulting engineers, with occasional community guest posts, and span query optimization, replication topology, and cloud deployments on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Posts are organized by category (performance, security, how-tos, and more), and the blog offers an email subscription that bundles new posts into a weekly digest.

DoltHub is the git-style hosting service built by the team behind Dolt, the version-controlled SQL database. It hosts Dolt database repositories the way GitHub hosts Git repositories: public repositories are free to host and browse, with diffs, commit history, branches, and pull requests for both data and schema changes shown in the web UI.

Private repositories require a DoltHub Pro subscription — the first 100 MB of private data is free, billed from $5/month above that. The company separately offers Hosted Dolt, a fully managed `dolt sql-server` instance for teams that want a running database rather than just a hosted repository. Because Dolt speaks the MySQL wire protocol, databases on either offering connect with standard MySQL clients and drivers.

title: "MySQL NDB Cluster"

MySQL NDB Cluster combines the standard MySQL server with NDB, an in-memory clustered storage engine, to form a shared-nothing distributed database. Management nodes, SQL/API nodes, and data nodes each run as separate processes, and data is automatically partitioned and replicated — two replicas per partition by default — across data nodes, so no single node failure interrupts service.

It targets workloads that need very high availability and predictable, low-latency reads and writes at scale; it originated for telecom session and subscriber databases and has since been used in other high-throughput, high-availability deployments. It's distributed as part of the MySQL Community offering under GPLv2 — alongside a Carrier Grade Edition with Oracle commercial support — and ships its own release lines (including an 8.4 LTS track) in step with the core MySQL server.

title: "MySQL Router"

description: "Oracle's official lightweight routing proxy for MySQL — sits between applications and a MySQL InnoDB Cluster, ReplicaSet, or ClusterSet, directing each connection to the right backend server so client applications don't need to track cluster topology themselves."

MySQL Router is middleware that provides transparent routing between an application and the MySQL servers behind it, most commonly a MySQL InnoDB Cluster running on Group Replication. Applications connect to the Router instead of to individual database instances; the Router tracks the cluster's topology and forwards each connection to the correct PRIMARY or SECONDARY node, so client code doesn't have to implement failover logic itself.

It also sits in front of InnoDB ReplicaSet and InnoDB ClusterSet deployments, and is typically bootstrapped against a running cluster right after installation. It ships as part of the standard MySQL Community distribution, released under GPLv2, and follows the same release cadence as the MySQL server — current builds track the 8.4 LTS and 9.x/Innovation release lines.
